How to refund a duplicate charge and prevent future charges.

Hi,

How can I get Microsoft to refund a duplicate charge in Azure? Or an actual person to look into my billing problem?

I am being charged PAYG compute pricing for a VM as well as for the reserved instance.

The reserved instance shows its being fully utilized. Its the correct type etc. Support articles just direct me to how to set it up correctly. I tried to submit a support request but I just get directed to the help articles or the invoice refund page. The invoice refund page shows the correct items, but a refund value of £0. Plus to be honest I would like to be able to stop the duplicate charges not just refund them each month.

The support page takes me to "Solutions" which is just a list of help articles with no button for elevating the problem as not resolved. This is most definitely the worst customer service portal I have ever used.

    the best option is to open a support request with Azure Support:

    Create an Azure support request

    Azure Billing and Subscription support is offered by Microsoft by no cost and it's for free.

    For billing and subscription-related issues, please follow these step by step to create a support request:**

    1. Go to the Azure Portal, click on Help + Support, and then select Create a support request.
    2. In the Support + Troubleshooting pane on the right, type "Billing" in the search box, select Billing, and then click Next.

    2.Select the subscription and click Next. You will be presented with some suggestions to resolve your issue. If none of these apply, please follow the steps below. User's image

    Scroll down through the suggestions, and you'll find an option to Contact Support. From there, select Create a support request.

    If the solutions appear again, click on 'Return to support request'. User's image

    Click Next, and you will then be able to create the billing support ticket.
