Hello I have a xbox one controller that I just bought to replace an older. I was able to use this new controller for about 40 hours of gaming the past couple weeks and then this morning I turn on my pc and the controller connects but none of the buttons are working. I know it is not a problem with my wireless connector because the old controller connects and all the buttons work.

Sounds like the new controller might have a firmware issue or just needs a reset. Try plugging it in via USB to your PC and see if the buttons respond if they do, update the firmware using the Xbox Accessories app. If not, could be a defective unit.
Thank you so much for your quick response. The controller is not showing up in xbox accessories at all, but my old one does show up. When I plug the new directly into the pc it will not connect, but when I use the USB receiver it connects but nothing works. Do you think it could be defective? It worked fine for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden this morning no buttons would work
