Last week MS provided an update to my work computer. It changed the method of authentication and forced a PIN to be required with the use of the fingerprint sensor. I have not been able to login to my work computer for a week now. Before I reimage the computer, I want to exhaust all avenues of trying to access the computer. At this point, I am trying to force a password change and cannot do it. I get the password rewrite feature is not enabled. I am the Azure/EntraID Account Administrator and am logged into the Admin Portal. Trying to figure out how to turn on this Writeback feature. Please provide some quidance. I do not have an on-premise AD, so should be able to directly update the password.

    Hello Charles DeElena

Basically, you would like to know how to enable the password wright back feature in Azure portal.

Password writeback can be used to synchronize password changes in Microsoft Entra back to your on-premises AD DS environment. Microsoft Entra Connect provides a secure mechanism to send these password changes back to an existing on-premises directory from Microsoft Entra ID.

And also could you please check the pre-requisites and follow the below Doc to enable password write back in azure portal.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/authentication/tutorial-enable-sspr-writeback
For Disable and re-enable the password writeback feature refer below documentation.
