Hi @Dhananjay Godbole ,
Welcome to our forum!
According to my research, Google has deprecated less secure apps, so older Outlook versions can't use basic authentication anymore.
You will need to enable Two Factor Authentication on your Google account and use a Gmail App password.
Step 1: Enable Google Two-Factor Verification (2FA)
Go to Google 2-Step Verification.
Click Get Started → Follow prompts to link a phone number or backup email.
Complete setup.
Step 2: Generate a Gmail App Password
Visit Google App Passwords.
Select Mail (App Type) → Name the device (e.g., “Outlook 2016”).
Click Generate → Copy the 16-character password
Step 3: Update Outlook 2016 Settings
- Delete the existing Gmail account: Outlook → File → Account Settings → Select your Gmail account → Remove.
- Re-add the account
