When I login to Teams I am seeing that my account is part of an organization. That organization does not work and is old. I want to remove the association of my account with that organization. How do I remove it? I do not see anything related to organization in the accounts page since this is a personal account. I only see this organization when I use Teams.

Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check the Teams Account Settings
      • Open Microsoft Teams and click on your profile picture in the top-right corner
      • Look for an option to manage accounts or switch organizations
      • If you see the old organization listed, check if there’s an option to leave it
    2. Try Removing the Organization via Microsoft Account Portal
      • Go to My Account Portal and sign in with your personal account
      • Navigate to Organizations and see if the old organization appears
      • If it does, select it and look for an option to remove or leave the organization
    3. Clear Teams Cache & Reinstall
      • Close Teams completely
      • Open File Explorer and go to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
      • Delete the contents of this folder, then restart Teams and check if the issue persists

If the organization is still tied to your account, and you can’t remove it, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance, they can verify if the organization is still active and help disconnect it from your personal account.
