Hello,

I need some help to rectify the issue below. I received an email entitled:

“Action required: Make a purchase by June 4, 2025 to continue using your tenant” from microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com .

Required action: To continue using your tenant, make a purchase before June 4, 2025. If you don’t make a purchase before this date, your next purchase with Microsoft will require a new Microsoft Entra ID tenant to continue using Microsoft services.

I am a MS360 user and my subcription will auto renew itself in August annually. I do not understand what action is required. Would any MS staff be able to help me resolve this?

Adding to Goutam's answer — this email is triggered when you haven't accessed or signed in to your Azure tenant for the past 90 days. As per Microsoft data retention policy, if a tenant remains inactive without any sign-in activity, the account gets disabled, and customer data deleted.

If you don’t log in to your Azure tenant via https://portal.azure.com/ within the specified time frame, it may be permanently deleted. Inactivity can trigger Microsoft’s process to remove unused tenants. Once a tenant is marked as inactive, the OMS commerce system enforces a login block. During this time, any sign-in attempts will result in the following error: "AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity."

Twenty days after the login block is applied, the tenant will be permanently deleted.

To prevent this, simply log in to your Azure tenant via https://portal.azure.com/. Check whether any subscriptions are present that may need attention. If there are no active subscriptions, no further action is required — your login itself counts as activity and will prevent the tenant from being blocked.

Thank you very much for the advice. Well noted. I tried signing into azure portal and all seemed OK. I am still a little concern (and confused) about the request to make purchase before 4 June 2025. My MS360 has been on annual renewal for since 2022 . It will be renewed in Aug and I hope all is still good .

If there are no active subscriptions, no further action is needed, and you can ignore this email—especially since, as you mentioned, the annual renewal has been ongoing since 2022 and is scheduled for renewal in August.

I Understand that the email you received from Microsoft regarding your Microsoft Entra ID tenant indicates that your account has been inactive for over 200 days.

Your Microsoft Entra ID tenant (ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxx) has been inactive, which means that no activity has occurred for more than 200 days. This inactivity could lead to the tenant being flagged for deactivation.

To continue using your tenant, you need to make a purchase before June 4, 2025. If you don't make a purchase before this date, your next purchase with Microsoft will require a new Microsoft Entra ID tenant to continue using Microsoft services. Please note that this email does not affect your data or accounts. If no purchase is made by the deadline, your current tenant will become inaccessible.

Hello, I also received a similar e-mail, mentioned that I must made a purchase by June 2, 2025 to continue using my tenant.

I am a MS365 user and my subscription is valid until the February 13 of 2026.

I checked my subscription on my MS account portal and everything is ok. As suggested on this topic, I tried to enter in the Azure Portal and I’ve got the AADSTS5000225 error.

My account is personal and not linked to any organisation and I never ever login on Azure portal and I didn’t even know what was Azure.

My question is - Can I continue to receive e-mails using MS365 products like Word, Excel and Outlook after June 2 or my account will be inaccessible? I use this account on a daily basis in my life.
