Outlook login is locking out Active Directory.

AD and Outlook use different accounts.

    Hi Michael Chapman,

It appears you're experiencing an issue where Outlook login attempts are incorrectly locking out Active Directory accounts. Here are some likely causes:

    1. Cached credentials issue: Outlook may be trying to use cached credentials for the wrong account. To Clear credfential cache or affected users:
      • Run control keymgr.dll and remove any saved credentials
      • Or use cmdkey /delete commands
    2. Check Outlook autodiscover configuration:
    • Run Outlook with /resetautodiscover switch
    • Verify autodiscover is pointing to the correct endpoint
    1. Review account mapping:
    • Ensure Outlook is configured with the correct account
    • Verify UPN (User Principal Name) matches between systems
