Not able to see particular repo type when creating pipeline from another organization

When attempting to create a pipeline in Organization 1's instance, I was able to select "Other Git" (any generic Git repository). However, in another organization's instance, this option to select a generic Git repository was not available.

Noticed that the "Other Git" option isn't appearing when you're trying to create a pipeline in Org 2. To help troubleshoot and pinpoint the cause, could you please confirm the following details.

Do you have Project Administrator or equivalent permissions in Org 2?

Is the repository you're trying to connect to a Git repo, or is it another type (e.g., TFVC)?

Has anyone in Org 2 successfully used the "Other Git" option before, or is this the first attempt?

Are there any organization-level policies or restrictions in place that might limit external repository connections?

Is the "New repository types for pipelines" preview feature enabled for the organization?

Is this project based on a modern process template, or is it a legacy project?

If you're connecting to a GitHub repository, has the GitHub organization admin approved third-party access for Azure DevOps?

Have you tried accessing the pipeline setup using a different browser or an incognito window to rule out UI or caching issues?

Once we have this information, we can narrow down the issue and suggest specific steps to resolve it.

I think we have permissions.

but where to check for feature new repo type of pipelines.? in polices? please provide me steps here

Hi Sai ,

I noticed this below feature is disabled where I can choose other git option

Protect access to repositories in YAML pipelines

and in another org I can see that this above feature is enable where I can not other git option,

do you think that is issue?

Recommended Actions:

Disable "Protect access to repositories in YAML pipelines"

Navigate to Organization Settings > Security Policies

Toggle off "Protect access to repositories in YAML pipelines"

Enable Preview Feature: "New repository types for pipelines"

Go to Organization Settings > Preview Features

Make sure "New repository types for pipelines" is enabled

Double-check pipeline permissions (if applicable)

Go to Project Settings > Repositories > [Your Repo] > Security

Ensure pipeline access is granted

Cross-check with Org 1

If possible, compare Org 2’s settings with Org 1 (where the option works) to identify any differences.

Once these are adjusted, the "Other Git" option should be available again when creating a new pipeline.

Hi Diptesh Kumar,

To make Other Git option available under Pipelines, you have to turn off Disable creation of classic build pipelines option under Organization Settings.

I faced the same issue:

To make Other Git option available under Pipelines, navigate to Organization settings=>Pipelines=>Settings=>General => Turn off Disable creation of classic build pipelines option.

Now, the Other Git option is available under Pipelines=>Connect
