how to fix the issue view server performance state permisson in paas server?

Hi,
user needs view server performance state access in paas server, when i run the query GRANT VIEW SERVER PERFORMANCE STATE TO [your_user]; it was throwing the error, the server is not accessible in this version of sql server, how user can do update statement without giving this permission, is there any other method? Kindly assist
