Hello community,

I'm experiencing an issue with multifactor authentication (MFA) when signing in to my Azure tenant with a personal (non-corporate) account.

Details:

  • I can sign in to my Microsoft account without any problem.
  • When I try to access Azure, it asks for multifactor authentication.
  • I receive the notification in Microsoft Authenticator, but when I try to approve it I get this error message:

"An error occurred while looking for an account to complete multifactor authentication."

  • My account is not linked to any organization or corporate tenant—it's a personal, standalone account.
  • I suspect there is some inconsistency or misconfiguration regarding MFA in my tenant, but I do not have access to alternative authentication methods or enterprise support.

Has anyone faced a similar problem or could suggest a way to resolve it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.
