I’ve upgraded to Pay-As-You-Go, but the portal still says I’m not eligible to request a quota increase.

Because I can't get a quota increase I can't move forwards with Databricks cluster creation

My account seems to still think it's a trial so it won't let me have tech support, it won't let me do what I need to do. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I feel like I'm trapped in a labyrinth just going round and round clicking buttons and achieving nothing. This is so maddening I don't know if anyone can help?

    Hello Doug,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

The problem you’re facing where your Pay-As-You-Go subscription still behaves like a trial is often caused by a delayed backend sync or an incorrect subscription state. First, confirm your subscription is fully active by checking Cost Management + Billing --> Subscriptions in the Azure Portal. If it shows "Active" but still restricts quotas, try switching directories (top-right menu) or logging out and back in to refresh permissions.

If the issue persists, escalate via Azure Support even if the portal blocks requests, you can email Azure support team with your subscription ID and screenshots. Alternatively, contact Microsoft sales or your account representative to manually verify your eligibility. For immediate cluster creation, consider deploying in a different region with available quota or using a free-tier Databricks workspace temporarily while resolving the issue.

Lastly, check if Azure Resource Providers (like Microsoft.Databricks) are registered sometimes, reactivating them resolves quota errors. Persistence is key; Azure’s backend systems occasionally lag, but manual intervention usually forces an update.

    Hi Doug

To resolve this, I recommend submitting a support request directly through the Azure portal.
Note: billing and subscription management support is generally free of cost with a Microsoft Azure subscription for any plan.

Here are the steps to do that:

Sign in to the Azure portal.
    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview
    User's image

    User's image

In the left-hand menu, select Help + support.

Click on create a support request.

For Issue type, choose Service and subscription limits (quotas).

Follow the guided prompts to provide the necessary details and submit your request.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/upgrade-azure-subscription
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/quotas/quickstart-increase-quota-portal

This will allow the Azure support team to review your subscription and increase your quota as needed. If you've already submitted a request and haven't received a response, please let us know so we can assist further.

Please do not forget to "Accept the answer” and upvote it wherever the information provided helps you, this can be beneficial to other community members.it would be greatly appreciated and helpful to others.
