The weird looking email address is your "base" Outlook email account Id. To add a readable alias:

If you are using New Outlook Web version. i.e. You open your browser to https://outlook.live.com/

You can only have one email account and which account that will be is determined by how you logged on. If you want to change accounts, then Sign Out (click on your profile avatar in the upper right) and close your browser. When you go back to https://outlook.live.com/ it will ask you which account you want to use.

    Hi Kokai,

    Welcome to our forum!

What does it mean to remove an account? Does it refer to removing the Email from Your Device or does it refer to permanently deactivating your Outlook email?

If you want to remove the Email from your device, please go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts > Select account > Remove.

If you want to deactivate your Outlook email, Microsoft does not allow deleting just the email—you must close the entire Microsoft account, which removes all associated data (Outlook, OneDrive, Xbox, etc.). Here are the steps:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account: account.microsoft.com
    2. Go to Security > More security options.
    3. Under "Account security," select Close my account.
    4. Read the warnings (you’ll lose emails, files, subscriptions, etc.).
    5. Follow the prompts to confirm deletion.

If "Manage" Doesn’t Show Delete Option:

    Hope it helps.
