Dear Community,

I have a user with HP Device with model i.e. Sepectre 2 in 1-14 EF2013. Below is the hardware & OS related detail of the machine.

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

OS Version: 10.0.26100 N/A Build 26100

OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

OS Configuration: Member Workstation

OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free

System Model: HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-ef2xxx

System Type: x64-based PC

Processor(s): 1 Processor(s) Installed.

                       [01]: Intel64 Family 6 Model 186 Stepping 3 GenuineIntel ~1700 Mhz

Kindly take a look at above information.

Issue: -

Issue is that the user is facing issue, when he turn-off the lid the computer goes to Tablet mode. While when he tries to bring it into tablet-mode by opening 360 Degree, it goes to sleep.

The default behavior should be following:

Lid-on ---> go to sleep

360 Degree rotation ---> go to Tablet Mode

Right now, it's doing vice versa. Is there a setting or such that is causing this problem.

From my end, I have checked everything.

GPO is working fine. OS patches are being applied as well. The system is working fine other than that.

I think there might some setting that might have been altered.

Please help me out with this issue.

Thanks.

    Dear Seema

    Here is my answer:

    • In Windows 11, “Tablet Mode” is not explicitly labeled, but automatic mode switching still occurs based on sensors.

    Check this setting:

Go to Settings > System > Display > Scale & Layout > Rotation Lock.

Make sure Rotation Lock is Off to allow auto-switching.

    • Also, check Settings > System > Tablet → set When I use this device as a tablet to “Don’t switch modes” (you can try “Always ask” for testing).

    Check this setting:

Go to Settings > System > Display > Scale & Layout > Rotation Lock.
