New App Service Domain Will Not toggle to Auto-Renew

I recently created a new App Service Domain for my organization for a subset of API's.

Completely understand that auto-renew is not available at creation.

However, when I inspect the created Domain and try to toggle the auto-new to on, it toggles itself back to off and notification says that it has updated.

I have double checked that this is not a UI error by navigating away from the service and back, the bool is still set to off.

Do we have to own this a set amount of time before it is allowed to be toggled? If so, what is that timeframe?

    Hi Bradley,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question on the Q&A portal. I understand you’re trying to enable auto-renew for your newly created domain, but the setting keeps reverting to off. You’re right that auto-renew isn’t available immediately after creation, but there’s a bit more to it.

After checking the Microsoft documentation, it looks like there might be a short propagation period before auto-renew can be enabled. This usually takes up to 48 hours, but sometimes it can be quicker. During this time, the domain’s status is being finalized in the system, and certain features like auto-renew may not be editable right away. You can find more details about domain management in the official documentation here: Manage an App Service Domain.

If the issue persists after 48 hours, it could be worth checking if there are any pending verification steps or if the domain’s registration is fully complete. Sometimes, small delays happen behind the scenes, and the UI might not reflect the current state immediately.

Let me know if you’ve already waited past this timeframe or if you’re still seeing the same behavior. I’d be happy to help dig deeper or suggest next steps. Also, if you’ve noticed any other quirks while trying to toggle the setting, feel free to share those details—it might help pinpoint the cause.

    Best regards,
    Alex
