Effective February 12, 2025, we're introducing Priority Community Support (PCS) as the first line of support for the Azure portal, and we're introducing the Azure Developer Support Plan Strengthened. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline support services and provide fast and efficient assistance to customers using Azure.
For requests with severity C, responses are received within 8 business hours, and the initial response time is the same as before. This new approach has several key advantages.
- Rapid response: Get a response within 8 business hours, which improves response efficiency.
- Knowledge sharing: Answers are also visible to other customers, allowing the broader community to find solutions faster.
Providing a detailed description of the technical issue will help us investigate and forward the post to our team using the appropriate service resource tags.

I was attempting to restore a 'BACPAC' backup of my company's primary SQL database in Azure to a local SQL Server instance, and I accidentally started a restore to the original database itself.
Many, but not all of the tables in the Azure DB were deleted (truncated, perhaps?).
I used the 'Import Data Tier...' method, and it was running for at least an hour. I took a few screenshots as it was running (attached).
Then I realized the wrong database was being restored to when I was kicked out of my remote session and I logged back in an saw the SSMS connection was to the production database in Azure.
While waiting for assistance, I did begin a restore to a new database in Azure, and it is still running now.
But if there is a better solution to see when the latest backup occurred and restore it to the original DB, I might prefer that if the backup is very recent (within hours of the accident)
