I am not allowed to select a paid tier for the new web app

I’m trying to create a new Web App in Azure App Services for a Node.js backend project.

However, during the setup process, I’m only allowed to select the Free F1 tier. All other tiers (like Basic B1, Standard, etc.) are not visible.

I am using an Microsoft for Startups Hub subscription with 5000 USD unused credits and have not added a payment method.

I need a higher tier (e.g., B1) to enable database..

Any help is appreciated.

You need to add a payment method. As long as the services are tied to the startup subscription, they will be stopped if they reach the spending limit. The payment method will only be used for any services tied to a pay as you go subscription.

    Hi @Samuel Seidel
Addition on Bruce response. If you are only able to select the Free F1 tier for your Azure Web App, it may be due to the limitations associated with your subscription type. The Microsoft for Startups Hub subscription may have specific restrictions that prevent access to higher tiers unless a payment method is added.

To enable a higher tier like Basic B1, you might need to add a payment method to your account, even if you have unused credits. This is often a requirement for accessing paid resources in Azure.

You can also check the Azure portal for any notifications or messages that might explain the limitations on your subscription.
