Hello, I'm looking for help on how to delete all my passwords in the Authenticator app for Android? It is being managed by another app, so I have no need for the double up. Thank you for your help! Dapster

    Hi @The Dapster

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum

Based on your description, I understand that you're need to delete all passwords from Authenticator app for your Android devices, so I would like to give you some necessary information.

First of all, Microsoft will soon have policies changing the autofill password feature in authenticator, specifically as follows:

    • Starting June 2025, you will no longer be able to save new passwords in Authenticator.
    • During July 2025, you will not be able to use autofill with Authenticator.
    • From August 2025, your saved passwords will no longer be accessible in Authenticator.

This means that you can remove passwords from your device by removing each account, following these steps:

    1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    2. For each account listed:
    • Tap to the account you want to delete --> tap to the Gear Icon on the top right of the screen
    • Select Remove account or delete.
    1. Confirm the removal.

Repeat this process for all accounts you wish to delete.

    Important Note on Cloud Backup

If you previously enabled cloud backup. Your accounts may automatically restore when you reinstall or reopen the app.

To prevent this, disable backup before clearing data: Open Authenticator → Tap Settings in the three-dot menu (⋮) → Under Backup, toggle Off.

Caution Note: In case you want to delete the password on the old device to log in to Authenticator App on another device, make sure you have logged in on the new device BEFORE deleting the account on the old device, or have a cloud backup, to avoid the case of not being able to log in to Authenticator App on another device.
