Cannot access the Azure AI Agent Service because of regional issues

I'm getting the following error on the top when i try to access agents section in my Azure AI Foundry project:

"**Unable to access your agents"
"**Agents is unavailable in the region of the selected connected Azure OpenAI resource. Please update the connected Azure OpenAI resource. Learn more about the supported regions"

The region I'm using is EAST US 2 and I'm sure it's supported in the agent service. I have connected my Azure Open AI service to my foundry project and have deployed GPT-4.1 model in there but in the agents section I'm still getting this error.

I'm also attaching screenshot of the whole screen for reference:

Kindly please let me know what's the actual issue because this all doesn't make much sense.

    Hi @Zain,

Apologies for the delay in response. We have reviewed the regional support for the Azure AI Agent service and can confirm that East US 2 is indeed a supported region for GPT-4.1 and other compatible models. To validate further, I also attempted to reproduce the issue using the same region (East US 2) and was able to access the Agents section without any problem. This suggests that the issue you're encountering may not be due to regional limitations but could instead be related to either permissions or a transient condition.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check your permissions – Ensure that your user account has the necessary permissions rights to use Azure Foundry features within the connected subscription and resource group.
    2. Retry later – The issue may be intermittent and caused by a temporary network or backend service hiccup. Trying again after some time can sometimes resolve such errors.
    3. Clear browser cache and cookies – Cached data can occasionally interfere with how the Azure portal loads. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
    4. Use a different browser – If the problem persists, try accessing Azure AI Studio using a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues.

I hope this helps. If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
