How do Jump Boxes compare to Microsoft Dev Boxes?

I want to ask a question about Microsoft Dev Box, but don't see that as an option, so I chose Azure Virtual Desktop.

I've been asked to put in a request for a virtual Jump Box in a VM "for Copilot". What the "for Copilot" means, I am not certain but assume that they mean GitHub Copilot. But it might be for Microsoft Copilot, such as would be used for any of the Office 365 applications. However, I am assuming they mean GitHub Copilot.

I am not certain why they think that GitHub can only be used in a VM in a Jump Box. I'll try to find that out, although that isn't that easy. What I would like to know is how do Jump Boxes compare to Microsoft Dev Boxes? I would think that a Microsoft Dev Box would be more expensive than a Jump Box. I'd like to know about the cost, as that will be of paramount importance. But beyond cost, how else do Jump Boxes compare to Microsoft Dev Boxes?
