I am not able to choose Klay as an option when I want to display my graph?

Review Admin Changes: If you have multiple users managing models, check if any recent changes were made by others that might have affected your access to "Klay".

Refresh the Explorer: Sometimes, simply reloading the Azure Digital Twins Explorer can resolve visual glitches or missing options.

If the issue persists, please provide more details:

When you last saw the option, any changes that might have been made to your models or twins, and if you're able to see other models without issues.

What should happen after using Klay option?

Is there any version change or upgrade done?

I you have been using the Klay option for years and it suddenly disappeared across all your Azure Digital Twins instances, this is likely not due to changes in my models or twins, but rather an issue with the Explorer's frontend or a service dependency.

The official documentation confirms that "Klay" should be available in the layout menu and its sudden disappearance across all my environments suggests a systemic issue rather than a configuration problem on my side.

these errors could be the source of a crippled page, not showing the Klay topology representation anymore.

Because this is running in the browser, can you try clearing the cache, using an in-private page, and perhaps another browser like Firefox (Edge and Chrome share the same rendering engine).

If the problem stays, please ask Q&A support to create a support ticket on your behalf.

Based on the related errors in devtools it is very likely a frontend or service issue that Microsoft needs to address.

I think you are correct on backend issue. I am also not able to view Klay option with model examples available in quick start sections.

We will check internally with IOT team on any recent changes and shall update you as soon as possible.

Hello @Klaus Nørregaard , adding to Sander van de Velde | MVP comment . I believe KLAY is not supported and currently, Azure Digital Twins Explorer fully supports DTDL v2 models and supports limited functionality for DTDL v3 models.

DTDL v3 models can be viewed in the Models panel, and twins created with DTDL v3 models can be viewed and edited (including twins with array properties). However, DTDL v3 models don't show up in the Model Graph panel, and they can't be imported using Azure Digital Twins Explorer. To import DTDL v3 models to your instance, use another developer interface like the APIs and SDKs or the Azure CLI.

I want to clarify that when I run a query in the Azure Digital Twins Explorer and view the results in the Twin Graph panel, I am currently unable to see the "Klay" layout option in the "Choose Layout" menu. As shown in my attached screenshot, only Cola, Dagre, and fCoSE are available as layout algorithms in the Twin Graph panel According to the official documentation, the Klay layout should be present in the layout menu for the Twin Graph panel, alongside Cola, Dagre, and fCoSE. However, in my current experience across all Azure Digital Twins instances, the Klay option is missing specifically when querying and visualizing twins in the Twin Graph. This issue is consistent and not related to my models or twins, as the layout options are a function of the Explorer's frontend.

As you can tell from the image the graph view is unstructured and not easily observable.

Hi!

I have exactly the same problem, and I can no longer see or use the Klay layout in ADT Explorer either. In order to work with many points and large amounts of data, I am completely dependent on being able to use this layout mode.

Please look into this as soon as possible and restore the ability to use Klay as the layout.

We got in touch with the Microsoft support team and got the answer below:

Regarding the issue you've described, it appears you reported that the 'Klay' layout option in Azure Digital Twins Explorer is no longer available. You mentioned that this layout was crucial for automatically organizing graph nodes in a clear, hierarchical manner, and its absence complicates the navigation and management of complex digital twin models. I have checked with my team internally and received a response. Unfortunately, they informed me that "Klay has been deprecated as a package and has had 0 security patches in the last 5 years."
