Azure AI Foundry: Missing Prompt Flow Option

Experiencing an issue in the latest Azure AI Foundry interface where the Prompt Flow option that was previously available in the left navigation pane is no longer visible.

A few days ago, Prompt Flow could be accessed under the "Build and Customize" section in the Azure AI Studio / AI Foundry interface. However, after recent UI updates, the option has disappeared from the portal. Additionally, some existing models and linked assets seem to be inaccessible, and several UI elements (like Flow preview, tracing, and evaluation) have shifted or are not visible.

  1. Has there been a permanent deprecation or re-organization of the Prompt Flow option in the new Azure AI Foundry UI?
  2. How can the Prompt Flow feature be restored or enabled in the updated UI?
  3. Is there a known issue or workaround for recovering visibility of older Prompt Flow assets and models?
  4. Can this be controlled via specific feature flags, preview settings, or region limitations?

Hi team, everyone, we found the solution. Due to the recent changes in the portal, Microsoft has updated the policies. Right now, the Power Flow option is based on the project type chosen in your hub. When creating the project, you have to choose either a Foundry project or a Hub-based project, where the feature Power Flow is only applicable when you select a Hub-based project. I've included the latest article published on 24-05-2025.

    Hi Folks,

This thread was helpful. Can someone tell me if Microsoft is going to deprecate the "Promptflow"?

Many of my client solutions are running in Promptflow. Given that this feature is hidden now, and Microsoft's history for randomly deprecating the features are concerning me.

I would also love to know if Prompt Flow is going away. Was pleased to find the solution above through this thread, but it feels like building on near-legacy option and risky.

    Hi @Avinash

Glad to hear your issue is resolved! Due to recent portal updates, Microsoft has changed how Power Flow works. This feature is now only available when you create a Hub-based project—not a Foundry project. It depends on the project type selected in your hub. Thanks for sharing the latest article from 24-05-2025 as well.

    Thank you.

    Hi there Avinash

    Thanks for using QandA platform

it looks like the Prompt Flow option may have been moved hidden due to a recent Azure AI Foundry UI update. i havent seen any officially confirmed deprecation announcements, but in previous cases like this, it’s often either:

A UI reorganization where features are relocated under new sections (like "Experiments" or "Flows").

region-specific rollout or preview toggle that might’ve been disabled on your workspace.

Try to Switch regions if your workspace supports multiple.

Check Feature Management in Azure AI Studio to re-enable preview features.

If this helps kindly accept the answer thanks much.
