My App Service (Web app Linux) is down with the following error:

I've restarted the App Service, but still no luck.
Do you have any ideas what might be the issue and how to solve it? Thanks.

App Service is failing because it’s trying to download a specific version of the libfreetype6 packagelibfreetype6_2.12.1+dfsg-5+deb12u3_amd64.debHowever, this version has been removed or replaced in the Debian repository, which is why you're seeing the 404 Not Found error.
- The Debian distribution updates to a newer patch version (deb12u3 has been replaced by deb12u4).
- The system’s package lists are outdated, so it attempts to fetch an older, no longer available version.
If you're installing packages using apt
apt-get update && apt-get install -y libfreetype61.Ensure that the URL for the package repository is correct and that the package is available. Sometimes, repositories may change their structure or remove certain packages.
2.If the package is not found, consider updating your package sources to point to a different repository or a more recent version of the package.
3.If the package is essential for your application, you may need to reinstall it or find an alternative version that is available.
4.. Review the logs and metrics for your App Service to gather more information about the failure. This can help identify if there are other underlying issues.

In my App Service, I've been deploying usingLocalGit. Because it's not a VM, where can I run thisapt-get update && apt-get install -y libfreetype6?I've tried to run this at the App Service's SSH and its connection is closed.

Azure App Service on Linux does not allow persistent installation of system packages via SSH or Kudu. Any changes made this way are temporary and will be lost after restart or redeployment.Use a custom Docker image where you install all required system dependencies during the image build process. This ensures your app always has the correct environment and dependencies.

- Change the command to install the libfreetype package. By removing the version constraint allows debian to install the current available version.
- If your application requires a specific version of
libfreetype6for compatibility reasons, it's best to pin that version inside a pre-built and version-controlled Docker image.
