Hi @Andrea Weisinger Ilardi ,
Thank you for contacting Q&A Forum. I would like to provide my findings and proposed solution:
Verify Windows Information Protection (WIP) Settings:
Open the Azure Portal.
Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > Mobility (MDM and WIP) > Microsoft Intune.
Locate the Windows Information Protection (WIP) user scope setting and change it to None.
Note: Changing the settings in the Azure Portal requires Global Administrator or Intune Administrator privileges.
Alternative Approach: DNS Troubleshooting
If adjusting the WIP settings doesn’t resolve the error, it might be due to a DNS issue on your device. Specifically, the machine might be having trouble resolving the domain enrollment.manage.microsoft.com. This problem is common for environments managing their own DNS. I recommend starting with DNS troubleshooting to ensure this site is accessible.
Temporarily Disable Firewall or Antivirus: Turn off the firewall or antivirus software for a short period to see if these security measures are blocking access to the necessary Microsoft endpoints. Remember to re-enable them once you’re done with the test.
Switch Networks: Try connecting the computer to an alternative network—such as a cell phone hotspot—to determine if the school’s network is interfering with the activation process.
Verify DNS Settings:
If your organization uses its own DNS servers, ensure that enrollment.manage.microsoft.com (along with other Microsoft 365-related domains) is correctly resolved.
As an extra check, you might try using a public DNS service (like Google DNS at 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare at 1.1.1.1) to see if that resolves the connectivity issue.
Kindly let me know if this work for you and please let me know if you have any further questions.
If I have answered your question, please accept this as answer as a token of appreciation and don't forget to give a thumbs up for "Was it helpful"!
