Hi, I had filled this form- https://aka.ms/oai/gptimage1access and waited quite long to get an answer back from the Microsoft team. So , I go the following mail-

User's image

Now when I went to the foundry portal to view the models- it is still showing a lock even after receiving the mail that I am in.

User's image

I have cross-checked the subscription and it is correct, the models do not show up. Same for gpt-image-1.

Hi Mansi Gusain, that's super frustrating )) u did everything right filled the form, waited patiently, even got the confirmation email from microsoft... and ups, still locked out, huh?

So, huge props to microsoft for approving u tho! their azure openai service is legit powerful, especially with o3's chat magic and gpt-image-1's text-to-image tricks. but u know we can fix this mess.

refresh like crazy. sometimes the portal just needs a kick. log out, clear ur browser cache, or try incognito mode. sounds dumb, but it works way too often )

subscription check. u said u double-checked, but just in case – go to azure portal, head to "cost management + billing", and make sure the sub ID matches the one in ur approval email. microsoft docs actually highlight this step here.

permissions, permissions. u might need "cognitive services openai contributor" role. go to IAM in ur resource group, add it if missing. microsoft’s guide here explains how.

region matters. not all regions support these models yet. check if ur resource is in east us, west europe, or other supported spots. the full list is here.

last resort – ticket time. if it’s still locked after 24h (azure’s sync can be slow), hit up azure support from the portal. include that approval email – it’s ur golden ticket.

hang in there! once it unlocks, u’ll be generating wild chatbot convos and AI art like a pro )) microsoft’s docs are ur friend, so keep this page bookmarked for future headaches.

and thx for posting this Q! helps others stuck in the same limbo

    Best regards,

    Alex
