Taskbar does not appear when using auto hide

My HP laptop with Windows 11 suddenly has a problem with the taskbar not appearing when using the auto hide feature. This occurs when an application is open and in use, such as Excel or Edge. This seems to have all started with what appears to be an Edge update today. I have another laptop with Windows 11 and it has the same problem and is also associated with the update. The autohide works when the apps have been minimized and just the desktop screen is displayed. But once you maximize the app the task bar will not unhide at the bottom of the screen. Very very annoying. Please advise on how to fix this.

    Hi @Belle Barret

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing. We've recently received several reports about similar taskbar issues. Unfortunately, due to system limitations, we're unable to provide a direct fix here. As forum moderators, we don’t have access to the necessary logs or tools to investigate this further.

Based on our experience, here are a few suggestions that might help:

    • Try rolling back to a previous version of Microsoft Edge to see if the issue persists. You can find guidance here: Microsoft Edge rollback for enterprises | Microsoft Learn
    • Check for Windows updates. Some users have reported that the issue was resolved after updating Windows.
    • Consider rolling back to a previous version of Windows. However, please note that this can be risky and should only be done if you're comfortable with the process and have backups in place.

We hope one of these solutions helps resolve the issue.

    1. Download a previous Edge version from: Edge for Business download page
    2. Choose a version prior to the issue
    3. Install that.

You may also opt for a System Restore. Select any restore point earlier.

I have found a source of part of the problem with the taskbar autohide not working properly. When I disable the application OMEN Gaming Hub the problem goes away and the taskbar works properly by reappearing when it is supposed to. I've tried this multiple times and it works. The OMEN app must be in conflict with the recent EDGE update.
