Error when trying to add my Azure AI Search index as my data in Azure AI Foundry project's Chat playground

Question

I am trying to add my indexed data (rag-athenaeum-dev-index-02) as data for my 'Chat playground' RAG chatbot, but I get attached image's error as soon as I select my index.

Any help is highly appreciated - thanks!

Yes, for anyone facing the same issue: if you're getting an error when selecting your Azure AI Search index in the Chat playground, make sure the Foundry AI Hub and Project’s Managed Identities have at least the "Reader" role on the Search service. Without proper permissions, the index can't be accessed during setup.

I had to assign the 'Reader' role to Azure Foundry AI hub and project Managed Identity members of my resource.
