I want to install below highlighted and for that i should include in the vs build script, can you please assist , Please share me the exact command and where to download

Thank you for sharing the details. It appears the issue is due to an incorrect component ID used in the script.

The correct component ID for the .NET Framework 4.5.2 Targeting Pack is:

--add Microsoft.Net.Component.4.5.2.TargetingPack

Kindly update your script to replace the existing line with the one above. This should allow the installation to proceed as expected.

The .NET Framework 4.5.2 Targeting Pack is not available in the current Visual Studio 2022 setup. As an alternative, you may use Microsoft.Net.Component.4.6.2.TargetingPack or 4.7.2, which are supported.
If 4.5.2 is specifically required, installing it may need an earlier version of Visual Studio.

I installed as per your instructions and i see output as below,

does it mean it is installed correctly with correct component now?

is there any other way to validate -?

since even I did not mention optional , i can consider it is installed right?

Yes, the script you used is correct.

The optional designation simply indicates that the component is not included by default in a workload. However, since you explicitly added

Microsoft.Net.Component.4.5.2.TargetingPack using the --add flag, it will be installed regardless of whether it is marked as optional.

You can consider the installation successful based on that.

You can validate .NET 4.5.2 by checking your .csproj for

<TargetFrameworkVersion>v4.5.2</TargetFrameworkVersion> or reviewing your Azure DevOps build logs. Using --add installs only the specified optional component, it doesn't include others automatically. Microsoft confirms that optional components can be added explicitly via --add, even if not part of the default workload. Reference: Microsoft Docs

1.Can you give me example how to validate 4.5.2

MS confirms that we can use --add, i understand that but where explicitly it is mentioned that we not includes options is okay
