Responding to an email is nearly impossible; the email times out and you can no longer respond

By way of preface, this problem began on Thursday afternoon after my Apple technician installed a new more powerful Apple Studio Desktop to replace my old iMac. Prior to that I had never had this problem.

However, as of late Thursday afternoon ... every time I start typing out a reply to an email I received; unless my response is very short and concise: the email times out and goes to another screen. When I try to go back and finish my response, it won't allow me to do that either. I basically have to go out and create another email in order to respond to anyone. What is going on?

    Hi @Jeff L. Annas

Good day! Welcome to Q&A forum.

Before I can help you with the issue, could you please answer the following question: Which application are you using to send emails?

Assuming you are using the Outlook desktop application, let's try performing a reinstallation. Close Outlook completely: Open your "Applications" folder > Move Microsoft Outlook to the Trash > reinstall Outlook from this link: Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn
