I'm Chinese but use the English version of Microsoft Edge. Chinese characters on the title of Microsoft Edge appears strange, and this is due to the default font. For Chinese version of Windows, the default font is Microsoft Yahei UI, but for English version of Windows, it's Segoe UI.

I have done these operations, but it seems not work for the font on the title of Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontLink\SystemLink in the Registry Editor.
  2. Locate Segoe UI, Tahoma, and Microsoft Sans Serif in sequence.
  3. Double-click Segoe UI to find the entries:
    • MSYH.TTC,Microsoft YaHei UI,128,96
    • MSYH.TTC,Microsoft YaHei UI
  4. Cut these entries and place them at the top of the configuration, as shown in Figure X and Figure Y.
  5. Double-click Tahoma and Microsoft Sans Serif, find the entry MSYH.TTC,Microsoft YaHei UI, and delete it.
  6. Add the following entries at the top of the configuration:
    • MSYH.TTC,Microsoft YaHei UI,128,96
    • MSYH.TTC,Microsoft YaHei UI

Or are there any method can solve this problem on system level? This might be better.

For best compatibility and consistent appearance:

Use FontSubstitutes to override Segoe UI → Microsoft YaHei UI (if you're okay with global impact).

Use Advanced System Font Changer to apply Microsoft YaHei UI to title bars explicitly.

Restart the system after making changes.
