I have a few users who need to use the portal for a specific amount of time for a specific set of services. How can I disable MFA for them so they can login into the azure portal only with a username and password. Please note that I have tried disabling default authentication, I have tried removing per user MFA but nothing worked.

    Hello Devraj,Thanks for your question.

I am not sure this is still possible. MFA is now mandatory for all user sign-ins to the Azure portal.

This is documented below in the planning documentation for mandatory MFA rollout.
