Access to Azure GPT-Image-1 Approval Progress

Our company has an active enterprise subscription to Azure, and we have been using Azure OpenAI service since launch. We thought our application to GPT-Image-1 should take no time, but we have been waiting for over a month without any feedback.

I have emailed csgate@microsoft.com but getting no response. Is there any timeline for this or any term like if we've waited for more than 2 months then we can consider ourselves being rejected so we can move on to other solutions.

It is a fascinating tool and we have a lot of marketing usage planned with it, but as a company we cannot wait for too long. Thank you.

    Hello Roger !

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Learn.

You're not alone, as I can see many organizations have reported long wait times when applying for access to models like GPT-4o with vision (GPT-Image-1) in Azure OpenAI.

As far as I know, Microsoft manually reviews GPT-Image-1 (multimodal) access requests, especially for enterprise accounts, due to responsible AI and compliance considerations.

There is no official SLA or auto-response timeframe, meaning your request might remain pending indefinitely unless explicitly approved or denied.

Try to raise a formal support ticket via Azure Portal under your subscription (choose Service and Subscription Management > Quota and Limits > Azure OpenAI).

I hope things will be sorted out quickly !

    Good luck.
