Have no idea why this happened. Have a feeling the game is badly optimized but even then, my friend's laptop was playing the game fine while mine was having this issue.

Hello, I am Henry and I will provide my insight about this issue.

A complete, sudden system shutdown (not a blue screen, not a game crash to desktop) while under a heavy load like gaming almost always points to a hardware-level protection kicking in. The system is shutting itself down to prevent damage. When your CPU or GPU gets too hot, its final safety measure is to trigger an emergency shutdown to prevent the components from melting. A poorly optimized game can push hardware to its limits, revealing an underlying cooling issue. Your friend's laptop might have a better cooling system or be less dusty, allowing it to handle the same load.

Here is what I recommend you do, in order.

    1. Monitor Temps First: Before you do anything else, install free hardware monitor software and check your CPU/GPU temperatures while gaming. If they are high (>95°C), overheating is almost certainly your problem.
    2. Clean the Vents: Regardless of the temperature readings, if you haven't done it in the last 6 months, clean your laptop's vents with compressed air.
    3. Check Power Supply: Double-check that you are using the correct, original power brick and that it's plugged directly into a wall outlet.

    Hope this helps you.
