Hi @Thabo Matlala
Unexpected charges can happen for multiple reasons, even if you think you haven't used any services. Here are some possible explanations for the $25 charge on your storage account:
- If you upgraded to a pay-as-you-go account after your free account expired, you were likely charged for any resources that remained active at that time, regardless of whether you were actively using them.
- Storage accounts can incur charges even when not actively used. For instance, if you created a storage account during your free trial and didn't delete it, it may still generate costs for storage despite no usage.
- Azure may bill for certain resources even if they are not actively used. For example, if a storage account is not deleted, it can still incur a monthly charge.
- To better understand the unexpected charges, please review your invoice and check the cost analysis in the Azure portal. This will help you identify the specific resources that generated the charges.
- Utilize the Cost Management tool in Azure to thoroughly analyze your charges. This will enable you to accurately identify which resources have incurred costs. However, If you have access to audit logs, please analyze them to see if there were any actions taken on your account that you don’t recognize.
Pease refer the below documents for more information.
- Understand the terms in your Azure usage and charges file
