I'm studying for the AZ-801 exam and on the training module "Implement change tracking and file integrity monitoring for Windows IaaS VMs" it is said that for managing change tracking you have to use an Automation Account, but this feature on Azure is currently apart from the Automation Account, is this training module scheduled to be updated?

What about the AZ-801 test, if a question related about this subject already considering "Change Tracking and File Integrity" a feature independent from the Automation Account?

@Leandro Chiesa I hope you are doing well,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A

Unless Microsoft explicitly states that the exam is updated (via the exam skills outline), prepare for the Automation Account-based model.

Expect questions based on the "classic" configuration, which includes:

    • Linking to a Log Analytics Workspace
    • Creating an Automation Account
    • Enabling Change Tracking & Inventory via Azure Automation + Log Analytics

Azure Change Tracking and File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) used to depend on Azure Automation Accounts to work. However, Microsoft has decoupled this feature and is migrating it under Azure Monitor/Insights as a standalone experience—especially through Azure Guest Configuration and VM Insights.
