Issue with Llama and Mistral Model Availability in Azure Sweden for Standard Deployment

We are trying to set up llama and mistral models hosted in sweden for a Resource that is configured as a Project (Hub). Even though the Dokumentation shows that there are llama and mistral models available for hosting in Sweden, we are not able to select "Data Zone Standard".

This Screenshot shows that our Resource in configured as as Hub:

This is what we would expect to see. We can select "Data Zone Standard" (Example from Dropdown of gpt-4.1)

This is What we see instead. Only "Global Standard" is available for selection.

Are we doing something wrong or are we interpreting the documentation wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    Hi Leon,

Thank you for contacting Q&A Forum.

It looks like the issue you're encountering is due to a specific limitation in Azure's deployment options. According to the Azure AI Foundry documentation, the "Data Zone Standard" does not apply to models from the model catalog. Instead, open and custom models can be deployed using regional infrastructure.

Here's a summary of the key points:

    • Data Zone Standard: Not applicable for models from the model catalog.
    • Open and Custom Models: Can be deployed using regional infrastructure.

This means that for Llama and Mistral models, you should look into deploying them using the regional infrastructure options available to you.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask! 😊

    Best regards,
