my microphone cannot be found as an input device windows 11

i cannot find or "load" my microphone as an input device so on zoom i cannot participate with voice/audio

    If it's a USB mic or headset try a different USB Port or, if it's a 3.5mm jack mic, ensure it's plugged into the mic port.

    Right-click your mic → Set as Default Device and Default Communication Device.

    Speak and ensure green bars move.
