Problem with word and letter jumbles on x.com

I am on a computer using windows 10. This issue never happens on truth social or in emails I write. It happens on x.com and it is sporadic, there is NO rhyme or reason to it.

I typed for an x post "I knew he would screw it up"

This is what came out.
"he would screw it up. I knew"

Sometimes it is SO bad that the letters in the words are garbled up.

I just typed "Why is this going on" and this is what came out:

This is sporadic problem. I aready turned off ALL the language grammar spelling things in settings which was a suggestion the first time I asked. .

can anyone figure out what is happening? It happens on x.com.

Yes. It is sporadic. Right now I typed "Is this working now?" and it came out fine. One thing, I turned back on spelling/grammer and then it was fine. The issue is maddening, it comes and goes! Sometimes words come out that I never even intended to type. Other times it is as my fingers are on the wrong keys. It is not my keyboard, btw. and it ONLY happens on x.com!

In terms of why it's only happening on x.com, I'm unsure of, but we know you're confident it's not your keyboard, we can rule out hardware and OS-level issues.

Possible issues include, and are not limited to:

JavaScript conflicts or bugs on X
Browser extensions
Browser rendering or input bugs
Input method conflicts or language settings

Steps:

Try X.com in a Private Window or Incognito Mode
- This disables most extensions.
- If the problem goes away: one of your extensions is likely the cause.
Try a different browser
- If you’re using Edge, try Firefox or Chrome.
- If the problem is browser-specific, you'll know it's not your system or X, but your browser configuration.
Try Disabling Hardware Acceleration
- Go to your browser's settings > Advanced > System > disable “Use hardware acceleration when available”
- Sometimes fixes rendering/input glitches on complex web apps like X.

A potential temporary fix:

Type your post in Notepad or any other plain-text app
Copy and paste into x.com
Review text before posting

Extensions are all shut off except for antivirus.

I do not have the problem AT ALL in firefox or chrome. I wanted to use EDGE as it keeps me signed in and I use Firefox for everything else. Also, Firefox is in my VPN tunnel

I tried to find hardware acceleration; in my settings there is no "advanced" . There is "system and performance" but nothing on there about acceleration. I know what that is, it is turned off in Firefox. I found "graphics accelerator" and shut that off.

OH, I have typed in notepad and then pasted.

Right now, it is behaving. If it keeps being a pain I'll just use Firefox.

One more thing. The only other thing I am using Edge for, (aside from this right here) is "truth social" and I have no issues there. It is isolated to X.

The issue seems to be specific to Microsoft Edge, and only on x.com, which strongly suggests a rendering or input conflict between Edge and x.com’s rich text input field (possibly JavaScript-based or React-based).

Since:

Firefox and Chrome don’t have the issue.

Edge has all extensions off (except antivirus).

You’ve disabled "graphics accelerator" (which might help).

You’ve ruled out keyboard, Windows input settings, etc.

...then the problem almost certainly lies in Edge’s handling of x.com’s dynamic input fields, possibly in combination with your antivirus extension or subtle system-level interference.

If it ever happens again and you're in the mood to troubleshoot deeper:

Press F12 to open Edge’s Developer Tools.

Go to the Console tab.

Look for red errors or warnings right after the garbling happens. Let me know what you see. Could reveal a script failure or rendering issue on x.com.

Overall you're already handling this logically and thoroughly.

Adding again, it happened, I refreshed and it was ok, but here is what F12 console said. Seems to me that X is the problem, but why it ONLY happens if I use Edge is a mystery.

Lovely! This confirms a lot.
You're right, the issue is on x.com's side, but it's only triggered in Edge due to how Edge handles certain site scripts.

The 400 error from: api.x.com/1.1/...update_subscription:1 means X is trying (and failing) to manage a live data stream (likely timeline or input autosave).

The console errors with has been blocked by CORS policy: just means x tried to call an internal analytics/tracking service and that request failed due to restrictions. This shouldn't affect input but if x relies on the call to complete before rendering, things can glitch. If I'm not mistaken it's JavaScript that does this.

So now the question is why only in Edge...

Edge may block certain third-party tracking domains (like analytics.twitter.com) more aggressively or differently than Chrome or Firefox.

Edge’s tracking prevention (even with extensions off) might be stricter by default.

These blocked calls might break internal JavaScript logic that handles typing or input buffering

Adjusting Edge’s privacy settings should reduce or eliminate the issue.

Optional fix:

Clear the x.com cookies and cache. You can even do this for your whole browser.
After that add x.com to Edge's trusted sites. Go to edge://settings/privacy, search Exceptions and add https://x.com and https://twitter.com.
