Recently an update by windows made the updater for both the Alienware Keyboard and the Turtlebeach Headset that I have used for years, stop working. On the same rig. Something MS did in the update disconnected those two services from the web, and the update server.

How do I turn that off so I never have to worry about it again? What service or program, or feature is interfering with the connection those devices use for updating? How do I go about turning off that feature? They both worked fine just weeks ago, and now they are just bricks.

    Dear Team,

The most likely cause is a conflict or corruption in the device drivers for your Alienware Keyboard and Turtle Beach Headset, or their respective update services, due to the recent Windows update.

    1. Reinstall or Update Device Drivers:
      • Uninstall and Reinstall: Go to Device Manager (right-click Start button > Device Manager). Find your Alienware Keyboard and Turtle Beach Headset under their respective categories (e.g., Keyboards, Sound, video and game controllers). Right-click on them and select "Uninstall device." Then, restart your computer. Windows should attempt to reinstall generic drivers.
      • Install Latest Drivers from Manufacturer: After uninstalling, go to the official Alienware and Turtle Beach support websites. Download and install the absolute latest drivers and software (like Alienware Command Center and Turtle Beach Audio Hub/Swarm) for your specific models.
    2. Run Troubleshooters:
      • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Run the "Windows Update" troubleshooter and any relevant hardware troubleshooters (e.g., "Bluetooth," "Playing Audio").
    3. Check for Firmware Updates:
      • Even if the software updater isn't working, check the Alienware and Turtle Beach support websites for direct firmware downloads for your devices. Sometimes, a manual firmware update can resolve compatibility issues.
