I've spent the past 7 days trying to resolve an issue and have contacted support multiple times, but nothing has worked so far.

The problem is that Microsoft has separated accounts into personal accounts and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD/work) accounts, and this is causing a major conflict:

  • My personal Microsoft account can publish free apps but cannot publish paid apps.

My Entra ID account can handle payouts and tax information, but it cannot publish apps to the consumer Microsoft Store (e.g., for Windows apps or Xbox).

The core issue is that:

You cannot use a personal Microsoft account for commercial marketplace features like payouts.

You cannot use a work or Entra ID account to publish apps for Windows or Xbox in the Microsoft Partner Center.

This disconnect is preventing me from publishing paid apps entirely, as neither account type supports the full set of required features on its own.

If anyone has faced this issue or knows a way to fix it — such as a proper account setup, linking method, or workaround — I would really appreciate the guidance.I've spent the past 7 days trying to resolve an issue and have contacted support multiple times, but nothing has worked so far.
