Verifying your identity to get access to your Outlook email account

Question

All of sudden there is this new process to verify my identity through alternate emails, numbers, phones, etc. Not the two step verification process but this identify your identity. I read an answer that says log in as a Global Admin to turn off but I do not know how to do that. I wasted over an hour with Microsoft customer no help desk only for no solution. This is annoying and asinine. Can someone give me the real solution to this question?
