I have tried to added the traffic widget , but with no luck. I get the message "Unable to pin the Traffic widget at this time, try again later. The Start Experience App has access to the location. I have tried to add the widget on two laptops and a Devbox but get the same message

Windows 11 is patched and up to date. I cannot find anything in the event logs.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do Microsoft still support the widget?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello, I am Henry and I want to share my insight about this issue.

I see that you're encountering the 'Unable to pin Traffic widget' error. Based on your troubleshooting steps—checking multiple devices—it appears the issue is not specific to a single machine but is likely related to your account or a service-side problem. The "Try again later" error often indicates a connectivity or synchronization issue.

    1. If the issue occurs across multiple devices, signing out and back in can force a re-sync of your widget profile.
    • Open the Widgets board (Windows Key + W).
    • Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
    • Select Sign out.
    • Close the Widgets board completely.
    • Re-open it and sign back in with your Microsoft account.
    • Try adding the Traffic widget again.
    1. The Traffic widget often relies on location data from the Weather widget. If no location is set, the widget may fail to function properly.
    • Open the Widgets board.
    • Locate the Weather widget (if it's not there, add it first).
    • Click the three dots (...) on the Weather widget and select Customize widget.
    • Manually enter your location (e.g., your city).
    • Click Save.
    • Try adding the Traffic widget again.
    1. If previous steps don’t work, resetting the Windows Web Experience Pack can help resolve potential corruption.
    • Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    • Search for Windows Web Experience Pack.
    • Click the three dots (...) and select Advanced options.
    • First, try clicking Repair. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, return to this screen and click Reset.
    • Restart your PC and try adding the Traffic widget again.

    Hope this helps you.

I believe the Traffic Widget is broken on Microsoft's side, and will not work until they fix it or provide an update to users to address the problem. User's image
