Hello everyone,

I'm working on integrating Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) with RadiantOne to enable Entra ID to act as a Virtual Directory Server (VDS). The goal is to offload query load from our on-premises Active Directory and have RadiantOne connect to Entra ID as a directory source.

However, I’m facing issues in the connection configuration step. I feel there is an issue in the configurations from the Entra side but I am not sure... Specifically, when attempting to connect to Entra ID via RadiantOne’s LDAP interface or Microsoft Graph API, I receive the following error:

Connection failed: Error: test connection failed. com.rli.scripts.customobjects.mgraph.MicrosoftGraphAPIException:

{"error":{"code":"Authorization_RequestDenied","message":"Insufficient privileges to complete the operation.","innerError":{"date":"<timestamp>","request-id":"<id>","client-request-id":"<id>"}}}

Please feel free to ask any follow up questions if it's not clear. Thank you

    Hi @Prajwal Shenoy,

    Thank you for contacting Q&A Forum. I would like to provide my findings and proposed solution:

    The error message is "Insufficient privileges to complete the operation." which means lack of roles or permissions. Please contact RadiantOne vendor to provide their official configuration document which includes Entra ID roles and permissions they needs.

    Kindly let me know if this work for you and please let me know if you have any further questions.

    If I have answered your question, please accept this answer as a token of appreciation and don't forget to give a thumbs up for "Was it helpful"!

    Best regards,
    Eric
