Teams message in channel created by Azure logic app Workflows cannot be deleted ?

As said in the title I can't delete teams posts made by my logic app, neither from the logic app itself nor with my admin account.

It used to work fine but since a few months my logic app that creates a daily message and remove the old one fails to remove the old messages. Also, when i try removing the posts myself with my admin account it does not work either.

I already confirmed that users are allowed to delete messages and admin can delete everything from teams admin panel settings.

When I delete messages that are not from Workflows but from any other users it works just fine.

If anyone have a solution I would be glad to hear it.

I use a Teams node to post a message in a channel and it works just fine.

I use a Send a Microsoft Graph HTTP request node to delete the old messages. Because there was no existing actions for the delete operation at the time.

Error here (i renamed the node task meanwhile but it's the same)

And this is the error message I get:

Could you please confirm on below graph API permissions.

Permissions Scope: Make sure your app has the correct Graph API permissions. For deleting chat messages, you typically need:

Chat.ReadWrite (for delegated permissions)

Chat.ReadWrite.All (for application permissions) .

Teams vs. Channel Messages: If you're trying to delete messages in a channel, the permissions and behavior differ slightly from group chats. For channels, ChannelMessage.ReadWrite.All is required, and even then, deletion is limited.

I added the ChannelMessages.ReadWrite delegated permission because I need to delete from a channel.
But it's still not working and the error is still the same..

And the bigger issue is that I can't even remove the messages manually with my admin account, this should not be the case as I have those teams settings:

Isn't that considered a bug ? I even have the following new option checked:

And last time it worked was the 4/16/2025, there was no run on the 17 and since the 4/18/2025, I always had this delete error. The rest of the logic app works just fine so the messages are stacking up in my channel, that's why I would like to remove the old one.

Hello Joachim Huet,

In the portal instead of clicking Delegated permissions click Application Permissions and you can add ChannelMessage.ReadWrite.All.

Go to portal.azure.com > Azure Active Directory Blade > App Registrations > Your App > API Permission > Graph API > Application permissions

After changing posting message from Flow bot to user your able to delete the message from channel.
