Expand the OS drive of Azure VM with custom size

Question

Hi guys,

I have a Standard E20s_v3 virtual machine with 200GB size OS disk.
I need to expand it and now have a quick question.
Can I expand it to any size (as long as new size is greater than original size) or I can extend it to only 256GB\512GB\1024GB\2048GB?

Hi @Cloud_Geek_82

You can extend azure disk to any size but charges it will apply to the next disk size.

Ex-

1. Your current disk size 200GiB, 256GiB charges will billed to you.
2. Once you increased disk size can't be lower size.
3. If you want to extend disk size between 257GiB to 511GiB , 512GiB charges will billed .

Is it applied for all types of disks?
(SSD\HDD, managed\unmanaged).
