unable to synchronizeorretrievedomain registration details fromGoDaddy, the backend provider for App Service domain purchases.Typically, this means Azure cannot access the domain’s ownership or contact information due to one of the following reasons:
- The domain purchase did not complete successfully, possibly due to a
timeoutorsilent failure. - The domain was deleted or canceled directly through
GoDaddy. - There is a metadata
mismatchorsynchronizationissue between Azure and GoDaddy, such as a missingshopperID. -
The Advanced Management (Preview)blade may have limitations and sometimes fails to load domain information correctly.
1). Verify Domain Registration Status
Use a public WHOIS tool to check if your domain is active and properly registered:
If the domain shows no ownership details or looks unregistered, the initial purchase may not have completed. In that case, you may need to retry the domain registration.

2). Check via Azure CLI
You can confirm whether the domain is recognized under your Azure subscription:
