How to extract text from images on Windows 11 [ARTICLE]

Overview: In this community guide, I'll share you how to extract text from images on Windows 11, natively and without using any third-party app.
Option 1: Using Photos app
Photos app is built-in app on Windows 11. If you're using latest version as of this writing, i.e. Windows 11 24H2, Photos app has the ability to extract text from an image. Follow these steps:
- Open the image for which you want to extract text using the Photos app.
- Once image is open, click on Scan text icon.
- Photos app will now scan image for text, and then you can either right click and Select all text (Ctrl+A), or you can select text and right click > choose Copy text (Ctrl+C).
Option 2: Using Snipping Tool
Snipping Tool comes pre-installed on Windows 11. Follow these steps to extract text from an image using this tool:
- Open the image from which you want to extract text, using Snipping tool.
- Next, click on Text actions icon at the bottom of Snipping Tool window.
- The Snipping Tool will now scan for text and extract it, which can now copy. You can copy all text using the option visible or you can specifically copy part of text from the image, by selecting it.
