Windows 10 supported my Sony Bravia KLV-46V300A TV screen on my desktop, but Windows 11 does not...with a message "unsupported Signal. Adjust your PC output". Is there a driver in Windows 10 that is not in Windows 11 that I can download into Windows 11 ?

Hi, I am Henry and I want to share my insight about this issue.

The problem is not a missing TV driver that you can download. Instead, the issue is that Windows 11 and its newer graphics drivers are stricter and often fail to correctly read the capabilities of older devices like your Sony Bravia KLV-46V300A. They attempt to send a modern signal (resolution or refresh rate) that your TV can't understand, resulting in the "Unsupported Signal" message.

The fix is to manually force your PC to output a signal that your TV supports.

    1. Right-click desktop > Display settings > Advanced display.
    2. Under "Display information," find the dropdown for Choose a refresh rate and select 60 Hz or 59.94 Hz.
    3. If that doesn't work, click on Display adapter properties for Display [X].
    4. In the new window, click the "List All Modes" button.
    5. Select a standard, safe resolution from the list. Start with 1920 by 1080, True Color (32-bit), 60 Hertz. Click OK.
    6. If that fails, repeat the process and try 1280 by 720, True Color (32-bit), 60 Hertz.

One of these standard HD modes should be compatible with your TV and resolve the issue.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction for your troubleshooting.

Hello Henry, thanks again for your input, which I have now used to solve the problem. The problem seems to have been that the Sony Bravia TV which I was using as a 2nd monitor has a VGA output port (vintage!) which I was, prior to today, linking to my new Windows 11 desktop via a VGA>HDMI adaptor . But now I have swapped the VGA>HDMI adaptor for a VGA>DISPLAY PORT adaptor and then, using the display settings, duplicated HP monitor to the Sony Bravia (well actually it started with the mouse cursor being on the Sony but when I duplicated to the HP the mouse moved back to where it should be)...and all is well ! Problem solved..so I will attempt to close this request, again with my thanks. Barry Jones, Auckland New Zealand.. (If I cannot close the request please feel free to do that)
