Request for Waiver of Unexpected Azure MSSQL Database Billing Charges

Dear Azure Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Vijay, and I am writing on behalf of Flutter Media Pvt Ltd regarding our Azure account Subscription ID : 2d6f7172-2e20-4935-bcc6-cead86bc93eb. We have recently noticed an unexpectedly high billing amount for our Azure MSSQL database, which we use solely for testing purposes.

As a Small Startup, we rely on Azure's services to support our development and testing activities. However, the recent billing amount is significantly higher than anticipated, and it exceeds our current financial capacity to pay. Given that the database is used exclusively for non-production, testing purposes, we kindly request a one-time waiver of this billing amount to help us continue leveraging Azure's services.

We greatly value Azure’s platform and would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Please let us know if you require additional details, such as usage reports or account information, to process this request. We are also open to discussing alternative solutions, such as optimizing our database configuration to prevent similar issues in the future.

    Hi Vijay,

    I recommend you create billing support request so that you can ask billing support engineer for refund. Billing support is free. Please carefully following my instructions below to avoid getting stuck in endless loop.

    Please let me know that you were able to create ticket or if you had any issues. I will assist you further in the comments.

    1. Navigate to this link to start the process:

    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview

    2. Click Create a support request button at top

    3. If you see Support AI Assistant, click Switch to old experience button on right. Otherwise, continue to Step#4

    4. On left, enter billing in the box and click Go

    5. Select Billing and click Next

    6. Select your subscription from the dropdown and click Next

    7. At this point there will be a delay of several seconds, and then various options will be displayed. Click Create a support request button at the top. DO NOT CLICK any of the other options.

    8. Fill out screen, Summary, Problem type, Problem subtype, then click Next button at bottom

    9. There will be another several second delay, and then some solutions will be displayed (this is similar to above). DO NOT CLICK any of the solutions, instead click on Return to support request button in upper left corner, similar to below

    10. Now you are back at support case. Click Next button at bottom to continue to Additional details tab. Fill out information as required, one of the items you may need is your Subscription ID.

    You can open separate browser tab and navigate to your subscription in portal, the ID is there, click the copy button to the right of it, then paste it into the box on Additional details tab. Click Next to advance to Review + create tab, then click Create.

    You should receive an automated email within a few minutes and then be contacted by support within 1 business day.

    I have already tried to raise the support ticket but its not allowing me to raise the support ticket as I am a basic free plan user. Here is the screenshot attached, Please help me to get this resolve ASAP.
