When I try to add a lake database template, the gallery is empty. How can I see the industry templates?

Here’s are troubleshoot steps:
Ensure Network Access to Microsoft’s Gallery Endpoints: Synapse Studio fetches templates from external Microsoft endpoints. Please ensure your network allows access to:

https://gallery.azure.com -
https://*.gallery.azure.com -
https://*.cdn.azure.cn(if you're operating in China-based Azure regions)
If you're behind a strict corporate firewall or proxy, verify that none of these are being blocked.
Confirm Permissions in Azure Synapse: You need specific rights to view and deploy lake database templates:
- Synapse Contributor or Synapse Administrator roles on the workspace (or higher)
- At minimum, your custom role should include:
Microsoft.Synapse/workspaces/readMicrosoft.Synapse/workspaces/lakeDatabases/write

Check Regional Availability: Not all Azure regions support the full set of industry templates yet. If your workspace is deployed in a newly launched or restricted region, the template gallery may show up empty. Try a Clean Browser Session: Sometimes browser plugins or session issues can interfere. To rule those out, try:
Opening Synapse Studio in Incognito/InPrivate mode, switching to a different browser (Edge, Chrome, etc.), Clearing your cache entirely, then reloading
Deploy Templates Manually as a Backup: If the UI still refuses to cooperate, you can bypass it altogether by deploying templates via Azure Resource Manager (ARM) or Bicep. Microsoft provides open-source reference templates here: Azure Synapse industry templates on GitHub
