Folder-Level Permission Issue in SharePoint Online

Please i need your help on this issue.

We are currently facing an issue with folder-level permissions in SharePoint Online.

We are unable to grant access to a specific folder — any attempt to do so fails.

As a result, the only workaround seems to be giving access to the entire SharePoint site, which is not acceptable.

This folder contains sensitive files specific to a client, and the client has mandated that only certain users must have access to this folder — not the entire site. Hence, resolving this permission issue is critical.
